What your child receives

Dedicated 1-on-1 Instruction

Your child works directly with a certified teacher. Not a tutor. Not a group class. One teacher, one student, complete focus.

All Subjects, K–12

Reading, writing, math, science, social studies — any subject where your child needs support. Elementary through high school.

Customized to Your Child

We build a learning plan around your child's strengths, challenges, and goals. Not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.

Progress You Can See

Regular progress reports with measurable academic growth. You'll always know exactly where your child stands.

Is Pono Education right for your family?

We work with families across Tucson and Pima County. If any of these sound familiar, we should talk:

Your child struggles in a traditional classroom — too fast, too slow, too many distractions

You've tried group tutoring and it didn't click — your child needs undivided attention

Your child has ADHD, dyslexia, autism, or a learning difference and needs someone who understands how they think

You're homeschooling and want professional instruction in specific subjects

You have ESA funding (or want to apply) and need an approved provider you can trust

Why families choose Pono

A certified teacher, not a tutor

Your child works with a licensed Arizona teacher with real classroom experience — not a college student or volunteer.

One teacher who knows your child

No rotating staff. Paul learns your child's strengths, challenges, and personality — and builds on that relationship every session.

Small caseload by design

Pono Education intentionally serves a limited number of families so every student gets the attention they deserve.

We handle the ESA paperwork

ClassWallet billing, documentation, compliance — we take care of it all. You focus on your child, not the bureaucracy.

Common questions from parents

Yes. If your child is a K-12 student in Arizona, they're eligible for ESA funding. The state deposits funds into your ClassWallet account, and Pono Education is paid directly through the platform. Most families pay nothing out of pocket.
Yes, ESA participants cannot be enrolled in public or charter schools. However, many families find that personalized 1-on-1 instruction provides a better educational experience. We can help you through the transition.
All core subjects K-12: reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. We also support students who need help with specific skills like study habits, test preparation, or catching up after falling behind.
Most tutoring services supplement school. Pono Education provides dedicated, personalized instruction as a primary educational service — delivered by a certified Arizona teacher, not a college student or volunteer. Each session is a full 60 minutes of focused, 1-on-1 attention.
